Welcome to Nagarkot Cottage, Since 1976 Nagarkot Cottage has been a home away from for all our clients. High above the main township, nestling amidst groves of evergreen trees is serene environs overlooking the snow capped mountains, just a few miles away from the heart of Kathmandu, is Nagarkot's landmark of luxury - Nagarkot Cottage.
Nagarkot Cottage is a picture perfect mountain resort which is nestled among acres of woodland and lush green landscaped gardens, on the hills of Nagarkot. Nagarkot Cottage carries some of the most breathtaking views of the valley, located in the serene surroundings of Nagarkot It is one of the best areas from where a picturesque panoramic view of hills and valley, most enchanting view of the Sun kissing Snow caped mountains can be witnessed. This enchanting view soothes your mind and provides visual feast to your eyes.

We at Nagarkot Cottage Restaurant offer our guests a wide and varied choice of the very best Nepali cuisine. We are especially renowned for our Chef's Specialties of the House. However, if there is a particular dish you would prefer that is not featured, please do not hesitate to ask us, and if possible our chef will prepare it for you. For more than 30 years we have been creating wonderfully authentic Nepali food here at Nagarkot Cottage.
In 2008 we have tastefully extended the cottage to give our customers extra comfort and a more pleasurable experience. We give our best to our customer to make it a memorable visit at the Nagarkot Cottage. Picnics and Barbeques
Nagarkot Cottage has many facilities for those who wish to take advantage of the peace and tranquility of the area. The garden is an ideal setting for lunch or for relaxing, and there are both indoor and outdoor undercover facilities should the weather prove to be cold or rainy. "Delightful location. Village tour of Nagarkot Hills
Hill villages in Nepal present a picture of the bygone era. Guests will witness villagers working in the field and carry daily activities in the most natural setting. Villagers still use pre historic technology to plow their fields and carry other activities in agriculture sector. For Western technologically advanced civilization, the village tour would be one of the most exciting aspect on their Nepal visit.
Hiking to Changu Narayan from Telcot
The track brings guests to the temple complex of Changu Narayan, where Newari artisans carved beautiful stone carvings to Lord Vishnu in the sixth and seventh centuries. The stone still standing one the west side of the temple is said to be the earliest known inscription in Kathmandu Valley, recounting King Mandevís military conquests in the fifth century.
Trek passes through villages and Rhododendron forest. The guest will have an opportunity to observe daily village life and related activities. It is an easy trek that will last for 3 hour.
Mountain biking starts from Kathmandu and pass Bhaktapur on the way to Nagarkot which is an ancient city full of Newari culture. Bhaktapur has many beautiful temples and squares with marvelous architecture and wooden craft work.
After the bike tour of Bhaktapur the ride starts towards Nagarkot which is northeast of Bhankapur. This ride will be on a pitch road; on the way to Nagarkot you will witness the beauty of terraced farming on the steep hill slopes.
At the end of this journey you will be able to perceive the beautiful Himalayan range of Langtang and Khumbu region. However, if you spend the night at Nagarkot hotel or a guest house you will be able to behold the beauty of early sunrise from the Himalayan range. The total distance of your ride from Kathmandu to Nagarkot will be 30Kms. It will approximately take you 3 Ĺ hrs to complete the distance.
Short trek from Telkot to Nagarkot
Trek passes through small villages and Rhododendron forest. Guests will have an opportunity to observe village life and activities. It is an easy and relaxing 3 hour trek.
Sankhu to Nagarkot
Drive to Sankhu by our vehicle. Start trekking from Sankhu crossing beautiful farming field and local houses and the Sacred Hindu River called Salinadi. After about 04 hours of walk you reach Nagarkot. Lunch will be on the way to Nagarkot form Sankhu. At Nagarkot you stay overnight for early morning sunrise.
Nagarkot to Sankhu
Early morning hike to enjoy the view of Sunrise over the great Himalayan Ranges including Everest 8848 m. and others as Langtang, Gauri Shankar, and Ganesh Himal. Breakfast in the Hotel and then walk down through the village and the beautiful pine forest. On your last stretch visit famous and historical Hindu temple Changunarayan (World Heritage Site UNESCO) and drive back to your Hotel in Kathmandu.
Nagarkot to Dhulikhel
After breakfast short trek of about 45 minutes to the Nagarkot Tower from where you can see Mt. Everest. From the tower you walk down the jungle to Nala village which will be about two and half hour down trail walk. At Nala village you have lunch and continue to and walk about two hours to Dhulikhel. At Dhulikhel you stay overnight to witness the early sunrise.
Nagarkot Cottage has always been concerned about contributing to the community where it belongs. Hence, efforts have been made to support the community around the area in various ways like contributing to the local schools, health posts and employment opportunities to the locals.
- Majority of the staff are from the community
- We have provided with a drinking water facility to the houses next to our cottage
- We buy most of the locally produced vegetables and also encourage our clients to purchase these
- Any assistance required in building or to help with our guests, we make use of local resources as far as possible
- Local students are given an opportunity to work part time at the Cottage, income from which helps them to get text books and go to school
- Contribution has been made to support the Nagarkot Health Post to buy an ambulance
- Contribution has been made to get a water tank and pipes for the local school
- Neighbors often make use of the first aid kit in the cottage
- During emergencies and other times, neighbors often use the telephone in the cottage
- Cottage assisted two British friends to come to Nagarkot and voluntarily help in the local school to teach English. They were here from 11 September to 08 December 2006
- We assisted in getting help for a local teacher to support for his further education. This was made possible by generous offer from a friend from
- Our effort to preserve traditional tamang culture has resulted in creating an exhibition space within the cottage where the working tools of tamangs have been displayed
- Over the years, generous support from our clients through financial assistance and their time to teach voluntarily at the local schools is much appreciated
