Golf Tour in Nepal
Nepal may not be a golfing nation as such, but that does not mean that the sport is not enjoyed in this spectacular country. While the sport may be one of the most expensive in the country, it is certainly gaining popularity at present. There are five golf courses in Nepal at the moment – each of them offering remarkably splendid holes and stunning scenery. If you're a golf lover, make sure that you don't miss any of Nepal's golf courses! They offer high standards, challenging courses, courteous personnel and some of the most spectacular backdrops you will every see.
When people imagine Nepal , they think of Himalayan mountains, of exotic temples and tranquil villages, of trekking, of rafting, and of touring and shopping. The local hospitality and friendliness prevailing on the streets manifests in the courses. Golfing Nepal is like being in an enchanted sanctuary, not a golf course. But unknown to most of the world, there are unpolished gems still relatively untapped in this Shangri-La of Asia, wonderful golf courses to be played and experienced. Currently Nepal is home to five public golf courses: Gokarna Forest Golf Resort and Royal Nepal Golf Course in Kathmandu , Himalayan Golf Club and Yeti's Golf Course in Pokhara and Nirvana Country Club in Dharan. Each is unique and enjoyable in separate ways. 
Gokarna Forest Golf Resort
Located just 10 km to the east of Kathmandu , the Gokarna Forest Golf Resort is without doubt the crowning jewel of Nepal 's golf community. A total of 6715 yards, the par 72 course is Nepal 's sole international standard 18 hole layout, designed by internationally acclaimed designer David Kidd. The facility plays host to a number of professional and amateur tournaments for players all over Asia each year including the Surya Nepal Masters which was held at the course from 20 Nov - 23 Nov. For the golfing nut, playing golf in this country is more than just 18 holes of masochistic frustration placing a little white ball in a 3 and ¾ inch hole in the ground - it offers a unique golfing experience unlike any other in the world. The course is playable year-round and has a Club House with a pro-shop.
Himalayan golf course
Adventure golf at its truest, the course's includes some of the most visually dynamic holes known to golf. Located just seven kms away from downtown Pokhara, the twice played 9 hole course is well laid out for championships at 6,900 yards with a par of 73. It has 11 greens and different tee positions and lies for the most part inside a sweeping canyon created by the Himalayan snowed waters of the Bijayapur river. The course wanders through aerial cliff drops of hundreds of feet down to the signature island hole within the either tranquil or raging Bijayapur river, full of exposed boulders washed down over centuries from the towering mountains above. The course is playable year-round and has a Club House with a pro-shop.
Royal Nepal Golf Club
Royal Nepal Golf Club, perched conjointly on the sloping land alongside the airport strip at Tilganga. Established in 1829 by the ruling Ranas, the course was given royal status in 1911 and claims to be one of the oldest golf clubs in Asia. Selected professionals and complete practice facilities are at hand for those who wish to follow that irresistible urge to improve, or perhaps, just to make a start at joining the golfing fraternity. The course is playable year-round and has a Club House with a pro-shop.
Yeti's golf course
The Yeti's Golf Course is in The Fulbari Resort & Spa in Pokhara. It is a 9 Hole Executive Golf Course, designed to be Nepal's most iconic and unique course that challenges not only amateurs but even pros. Overlooking the Seti River gorge, players not only have to navigate the usual water hazards and sand traps, but also the 300 ft. gorges that intersect some holes. One needs 1 hour and 30 minutes to finish the first round of the holes. Sounds easy? But wait! It's quite difficult because of the deliberate small greens, narrow fairways and closed out-of bound (O/B) fenced with surrounding water ponds. Although only 9 holes the use of alternate tees, greens, and pin positions, gives the feeling of playing a full 18hole layout. The location is spectacular and a number of the tee shots across the Seti Gorge will mentally challenge even the very best golfer. But the area is tranquil, the views of the Himalayas to the north, and the Seti River far below, stunning, and by the 9th hole you really will have earned your refreshment. The course is playable year-round and has a Club House with a pro-shop.
Nirvana Country Club
Nirvana Country Club has a uniqueness that brings friends from worlds away to sample it's many offerings. One of the biggest and oldest golf club of Nepal , which was, and is frequented by many eminent personalities from all over the world. Prince Charles and the Late Princess Diana had also visited this golf club when it was a British Gurkha Recruiting center. Nirvana Country Club Health & Golf Resort has an 18-hole Golf Course with 5,990 yardage, 70 par designed by Nuffied & Trust U.K. Nirvana Country Club is located in Dharan, just 45 minutes driving distance from Biratnagar airport. The course is playable year-round and has a Club House with a pro-shop.
